Karla EBRAHIMI Karla Ebrahimi’s smile is infectious. This busy mother of two has an extraordinary way of making everyone feel at home. Her graciousness touches everything she does and is embodied in her line of bespoke letterpress greeting cards. In an age where communication is reduced to texts and tweets, Ebrahimi is keeping the age-old art of the hand-written card alive with her Menlo Park-based company, Sky of Blue Cards. And she’s doing it with grace and charm. Her coveted line of cards has even won Louie Awards (the Oscars of the greeting card world). Ebrahimi began her graphic design career with Hallmark in Kansas City. Later, when she moved to the Bay Area, she started her own graphic design firm and found herself working with a wide assortment of local companies and tech start-ups. “But I missed the artistic side of cards,” she recalls. “Cards, announcements, and invitations have always been my favorite things to create.” Her customers adore her witty sentiments and are drawn to the very personal nature of the cards. “Our company mantra is ‘a card just for you,’ ” says Ebrahimi. “And we mean it.” http://mydigimag.rrd.com/publication/?i=112790&p=40
