Hello! I'm Karla Ebrahimi-Camens, the founder, designer and letterpress printer behind Sky of Blue Press & Papery. When I was a kid I spent a lot of time crafting cards and invitations for friends and family. Turning that passion into a career felt natural, and in 2008, Sky of Blue Cards (now Sky of Blue Press & Papery!) was born with a few letterpress note cards. We now offer a wide range of greeting cards that are sold in shops across the country. In the beginning years I outsourced the printing, but in 2015 I bought a vintage 1942 Chandler & Price letterpress. I didn't know how to use it so I took a printing class at the San Francisco Center for the Book, followed by a lot of on-the-job learning!

In 2016 we launched “LetterBox”, our stationery subscription box, which was featured in O Magazine's Oprah's Favorite Things issue. The orders started coming in when the magazine hit the stands and we didn’t sleep for 45 days, but it was so much fun! We still have some very loyal subscribers who have been with us since day one!

Along with greeting card design, one of my greatest joys is designing custom wedding invitation suites. There’s something so special about collaborating with couples to create pieces that perfectly capture their unique love story and set the tone for their big day. It's an honor to be a part of such a momentous occasion.

For years I designed from my home studio, but I always dreamed about a creative haven where I could share my love of paper. In 2023 that dream became reality with the opening of our flagship studio / shop in Rockaway Beach! Here, you can find our full collection of letterpress greeting cards, stationery, and our very own hand-poured luxury candle line, all nestled in a beautiful, light-filled space.

But Sky of Blue Press & Papery is more than just a shop. We're a creative community! We offer workshops where you can learn new skills like letterpress printing, watercolor painting, candle making and calligraphy.
