NSS Trends

My luggage was definitely heavier on my way home from the National Stationery Show! I picked up a ton of very cool stuff from the show of course, but we also browsed a few stationery stores (spent lots of time in Kate's Paperie in SoHo - then off to Balthazar for champagne, of course). One trend that is huge in stationery right now are the sort of churlish messages you see in the cards. I don't know, it's probably just me, but after a while they get a little old and seem less playful and more cranky than anything else. It may be that I just saw too many all at once at once, in a whole lot of booths.

A very cool trend I noticed quite a bit was die-cut rounded corners. I like it. Rounded corners. It gives a stationery piece a little somethin' somethin'... elegant yet fun. You may see us do some rounded corners here at Sky of Blue Cards. But, more on trends later... xoxox, Karla
